VQS provides logistics services for many blue-chip corporate clients across the UK. Part of our 75,000 movements involve transported movements. We have a young fleet of 31 single car transporters, some of them having an additional tri-axle trailer.
About the role
Based from one of the VQS hubs, transporter drivers will be required to safely move a diverse mix of ex manufacturer, fleet, leasing, and dealer vehicles. Reporting to our fleet manager drivers will receive daily instructions that could take them to anu UK postcode. A sound understanding and experience with safe loading and unloading vehicles will need to be demonstrated.
Transporter drivers will require:
- A minimum age of 30 years (for insurance purposes)
- Five years continual driving experience and one year in a similar role
- A full clean UK driving licence with a C1, C1E or CE class supplement
- No previous driving convictions resulting in the suspension of a license
Additional information
Transporter drivers are expected to be planned one night out per week which is expensed.
Drivers will be considered for a full time PAYE position following a probationary period.
Strict adherence to O License and CPC terms is required. Cleanliness and adherence to our requirements for vehicle checks and wearing the appropriate PPE is mandatory. Being approachable and helpful with customers will reflect the standards we set ourselves.
Uniforms will be supplied and drivers and transporters are expected to be presentable. Accurate completion of Proof of Collection and Delivery notes is important, and drivers may be required to carry out detailed handovers to our prestigious fleet clients.
A working day typically starts around 7.30am and transporters are collected and returned to hubs daily.
