Vehicle Quality Solutions (VQS) inspect and collect activity in June has firmly bucked the trend, delivering record volumes of vehicle movements, rigorous compliance inspections, and detailed repair reporting.

With June traditionally regarded across the automotive industry as a quieter, transitional month for corporate fleet activity, the latest figures from VQS suggest that it was a bumper month for the business.

Over the course of the month, VQS successfully coordinated nearly 5,500 separate vehicle movements. To put the scale of the operation into perspective, drivers covered an astonishing 640,062 miles across the UK network – an equivalent of completing 2.7 trips to the moon.

Alongside this, the VQS completed over 4,500 field-based vehicle inspections and identified and costed over £2 million in necessary repairs, giving fleet managers valuable insight into the condition of their end-of-contract vehicles, enabling accurate lifecycle management, and protecting residual values before remarketing.

The changing landscape of fleets was also starkly highlighted by the ongoing transition toward EVs, which accounted for half of the total volume of vehicles moved:

• Diesel: 28%
• Hybrid: 27%
• Electric (BEV): 23%
• Petrol: 21%
